In this section you will find many of the most common questions that our patients have when they go to our dental clinic.

- Do not use the toothbrush in the area of intervention. You should start cleaning the rest of the teeth the day after the surgery
- Do not chew on the side of intervention

- Do not eat food too consistent and hard

- Do not rinse your mouth vigorously

- If you notice any stitch, avoid repeatedly touching it with your tongue because can be moved or might fall down.

- In the first 24-36 hours you may notice discomforts in the operated area, especially when anaesthesia disappear. These annoyances are usually well controlled with mild painkillers. Remember that it is not advisable to take painkillers with an empty stomach.

- It is quite possible that the wound bled a little, that part of the face near the operated area swell slightly and you might notice excessive salivation. If you find a frank bleeding, take a small gauze and compress the affected area with it for half an hour. If you want, although usually it’s not necessary, you can reduce or prevent inflammation placing some ice cubes in a plastic bag and apply it over the intervention. Eliminate excess of saliva with a handkerchief, but not spitting, to avoid compromising the healing clot.

- The first night after surgery, try to sleep with the head slightly higher than normal.

- Applyvaseline or another lubricant ointment in the corner of the lips, three or four times a day, if you feel discomfort or you have chapped lips.
- As it happens after any surgery,the rest of the operated area is very important to promote healing and reduce the possible pain, bleeding and swelling. Avoid excessive efforts of any kind. You can carry out your normal lives, but the more you reduce the physical activity the better you will feel, especially the first two days.

- It is advisable to limit the consumption of tobacco and alcohol, during the first four days.
